This is embarrassing…

Don’t we all love a juicy embarrassing story?

Well guess what...

You are in for a treat.

I’m going to tell you the most EMBARRASSING moment I had when I was younger (still makes me flustered thinking about it) but the deal is you guys have to solemnly promise not to laugh...?

So for those of you that don’t know I used to be a huge Tom Cruise fan. Massive.?

I mean I loved the guy to death - I would non-stop talk about him, I would watch his movies all-the-time and I even kept a picture of him in my purse! I adored him.

So one day one of my best friends and I went to an event he was at where you could get a chance to meet Tom and get a picture taken with him…. it took me about 1.5 seconds to say “Hell Yeah I'm in!” and 2.5 seconds later it was stamped into my diary.

I counted the weeks down with anticipation until I got a chance to meet “My Tom” and as the event got closer and closer I got more excited and less patient.

No sooner than I knew it - the day came.?

Filled with thrill and enthusiasm I skipped to the event (only stopping once for a quick meal with my friend…) Now around this time I was on a health-kick and so I decided to be more nutritious and went for a nice healthy salad to start the day off right!?

After paying we headed into the event and next thing I knew I was standing right next to Tom Cruise which was literally the most mind-blowing moment of my entire life (or so I thought..). It went exactly how I imagined. He was charming, charismatic and funny... everything I expected.?

The only thing I didn’t expect was how bad the photo was of Tom and I. I mean he looked great and I did too, but there was something unusual about the way I was smiling. I couldn’t quite figure it out but I could tell there was something wrong…

So I leaned in for a closer look at the photo,

To my shear uncontrollable astonishment I realized exactly what had happened in that photo.

I wanted the ground to swallow me up when I realized it. I just couldn’t believe my eyes and it was obvious to me straight away what was wrong...

There stuck in between my teeth I had what looked like a thick green piece of spinach!

I hoped it was a camera error but boy was I wrong…

At that point, I felt like I could have melted like a puddle on the floor. I could not believe that I made such a dumb mistake.?

I remember feeling my face heat up. My heart was beating so fast. I can tell you that sleeping was difficult that night!?

But as you know, life moves on, and here I am today!?

Thankfully, I learned 3 lessons that I took out of that situation:

● Takeaway #1 - We all make mistakes! Not one of us is perfect no matter how hard we try.

● Takeaway #2 - Don’t judge yourself too much - life is simply too short.?

● Takeaway #3 - Tom Cruise is a very good actor!

Because of this crazy mistake I made, I realized that things aren’t always as big of a deal as they seem.
