Embarking on the Entrepreneurial Odyssey: Building a Dream from Scratch ?

In 2014, I embarked on a journey that would forever reshape my life - the journey of entrepreneurship. This path was destined to be a tapestry woven with determination, trust, and unyielding passion.

Entrepreneurship is an adventure that demands more than just a dream; it requires unwavering faith, solid support, and the financial backing to weather the storm. The early days were not for the faint of heart; as a 'nobody' in the business world, I faced a multitude of challenges.

My vision was clear - to build an IT services organization. In a crowded market, I aimed to stand out by becoming an invisible innovator, a trusted partner for clients' complex projects. But dreams alone are not enough; they require tenacity and action.

In those initial days, I found myself navigating the uncharted waters of real estate, Office interiors, Agreements, Legal, Contracts, Employment & Labour Laws, PF & ESIC, Accounting, HR, Policies, Marketing, customer management, pre-sales and more. Days and nights were spent in relentless research, price checks, and negotiations to secure our first office space. It was a steep learning curve, but I was determined to see my vision through.

Transitioning from being just a technology and delivery person to wearing multiple hats and making the right decisions across real estate, Office interiors, Agreements, Legal, Contracts, Employment & Labour Laws, PF & ESIC, Accounting, HR, Policies, Marketing, and more was both challenging and enriching. The true test came when, with our first project in hand, I had to juggle all other departments and manage the coordination alongside project delivery. The challenges kept mounting, but my belief in the vision and the ability to convey it to prospective employees paid off.

I owe a debt of gratitude to those initial team members who took a leap of faith, leaving secure jobs to join me. Our humble beginnings saw us conducting meetings around the dining table of my home, balancing project discussions with office setup activities. The days were never-ending, but our determination was unwavering.

I'll never forget conducting interviews on a rooftop terrace, sitting on plastic chair and table, without the comfort of an office. Candidates must have wondered whether they should take the plunge and join. But I had something invaluable - a vision that inspired faith.

Our fledgling team faced its share of trials and tribulations, but we learned. We learned how to overcome obstacles, how to refine our processes, and how to evolve. My journey took me through every facet of business, from recruitment to finance, from administration to HR, from solutioning to delivery - the list was endless.

Slowly but surely, the company began to take shape. Over two years, we built teams, honed our expertise, and carved out a reputation that resonated with employees, clients, and the talent pool. This transformation was possible due to the incredible support of our sales team, who mastered relationship management, navigated global team dynamics, and helped establish our onshore-offshore model.

Reflecting on this seven-year plus odyssey, I'm still awestruck by the fact that we grew into a nearly 1000-strong organization. Every twist and turn of the journey brings back a rush of emotions and an unshakable sense of pride.

Every entrepreneur's path is rife with sacrifices, challenges, and uncertainties. Not every endeavor ends in success, but every step is a lesson. Looking back at my journey, I can confidently say it was not only a success but a treasure trove of learnings.
