Welcome to Exploring AI with ChatGPT. This is a new blog series where we will focus on a variety of AI topics. This post serves as your introduction to the blog, and in it we will unpack what this blog is, and what you can expect from it as we release posts over the coming weeks and months. This blog is designed to be engaging to professionals who use AI (or are considering using it) in their daily work. No matter whether you're a beginner or you are an expert when it comes to Generative AI, my hope is that you will get something out of this new blog series.

What Will You Discover in "Exploring AI with ChatGPT"?

The overall purpose of "Exploring AI with ChatGPT" is to explore and explain the capabilities of Generative AI using ChatGPT as a base. The way we will do that is by selecting a key topic for the post, and interviewing ChatGPT about said topic. By doing that, we should see some interesting responses that help users to understand what exactly ChatGPT does under the hood when we offer it prompts. Readers of this blog can expect to learn more about the inner workings of LLM's and how prompt engineering works and is translated by tools like ChatGPT.

The reason for focusing on ChatGPT is remarkably simple. It's simply because at the time of writing it is arguably the most popular tool that uses LLM to generate responses and content. Much of what will be covered in this blog can be taken and applied to tools such as Google Bard, and Midjourney. However, I have opted to go with ChatGPT as the base tool because of it's widespread usage and overall level of accessibility for readers of this blog. To summarise, we'll use ChatGPT for this blog because out of all the available options, our readers most likely use it first.

Why is This Blog a Must-Read Among Other AI-Focused Content?

The unique selling point of this blog is that we will use ChatGPT to help us understand Generative AI. As noted in the previous section, this blog will (at least initially) produce content that is essentially interviews with ChatGPT. Often, when we see content around tooling like this, we see posts from people who are to some degree experts in the tooling. We don't normally see content where the "expert" is actually the tool itself. This kind of blog content is obviously highly experimental, but it should provide some interesting insights into the way it works.

Time will tell how this blog fairs in regards to making complex AI concepts both approachable and relevant for professionals in a variety of fields. All being well, the blog will explain complex concepts in such a way that it can be easily understood by professionals at all levels of experience with Generative AI.

How Can You Engage with the Blog in Upcoming Editions?

I'd love to see this blog generate some good engagement. Comments and the sharing of insights are totally welcome. We'd also welcome the suggestion of other topics for future posts. At the time of writing, we have enough topics to last until around September of this year. However, we will be looking for more topics for future posts. You never know, some posts may get moved around to focus on more pressing topics. The aim here is to create engaging high-quality content that users of Generative AI at all levels of experience can benefit from and share with others. I'd also welcome your feedback on how we create stronger levels of reader engagement and opportunities to connect as the blog develops and grows.

A new edition of the blog will be released once every two weeks. This will take place on a Tuesday evening here in the UK. The next edition, due for release on Tuesday 30 January will explore the question of how ChatGPT understands the prompts users give it, looking into how it processes prompts and the best tips to allow users to craft higher-quality prompts.
