A lot of people ask me whether email marketing is "still a thing". Well, let me tell you, email marketing is still a viable and effective way to reach and engage customers in 2023 and beyond.

While newer forms of digital marketing and communication have emerged, email remains a widely used and important tool for businesses of all sizes.

Email marketing allows businesses to reach a large audience at a low cost and with a high degree of personalisation. It also allows businesses to track the effectiveness of their campaigns and make data-driven decisions about their marketing strategies.

That being said, it is important for businesses to carefully consider their email marketing strategies and ensure that their emails are relevant, useful, and comply with laws and best practices. This includes obtaining consent from recipients, providing an easy way for them to unsubscribe, and respecting their privacy.

So, you might be asking yourself, what is the best way to build an email list, and what are the best ways to collect email addresses?

Well, here are 5 simple steps you can use to start collecting emails...

Building an email list is an important part of email marketing, as it allows you to reach and engage with your target audience through email campaigns. There are several ways to collect email addresses and build your email list:

  1. Offer a sign-up form on your website: You can add a sign-up form to your website and ask visitors to provide their email addresses in exchange for something of value, such as a free download, a discount, or access to exclusive content.
  2. Collect email addresses at in-person events: If you participate in trade shows, conferences, or other in-person events, you can collect email addresses from attendees using sign-up sheets or by using a tool like a QR code to share your details & collect email addresses electronically.
