YOU JUST FORGOT ABOUT IT
This is my answer to the first question people ask me once they find out what am I doing for a living.
''Email marketing? Is that really work in 2022???''
So my question to that is - How is possible that people, especially business owners, could forget about the whole sales channel?
The answer could be - email was here before all other channels, and once the new ones were invented people start generating so much money from it. Organic reach and ROI in new channels are super high in the first few years. You saw that with Facebook and Instagram, now with Tik Tok. So, somehow it is logical that after all these new ways of advertising people can forget about the old good email marketing.
I remember 7 years ago, I was using android, and at that moment you had to change your cell phone every while since OS was not so perfect. So, I switched to IOS, and I was amazed. Whenever someone asked me about that, I defended IOS like it was my company, but meanwhile Android worked really hard on its quality and I didn't know that cause, IOS was good enough for my needs. It's the same thing with Email and for example, Facebook or Google ads.
Numbers:
Today, approximately?333.2 billion?emails are sent per day, which works out at well over 3.5 million emails per second.
Definitely, not dead!
But let's take a look at some other numbers as well:
And this is average.
Another thing connected to numbers is budget. How much money do you need to hit at least 30% of your audience in the US with Facebook ads? The only correct answer is a lot.
In Email marketing, you need to pay your ESP (Email Service Provider) and it would be great to have a few more tools, but you can find decent free versions for each.
There is no thing like paying extra, results will be the same.
Yes, you have to pay someone to do that if you are not doing email in-house, but that's the theme for another article.

When is the right time to start with Email?
From day 1, or even earlier.
It is expensive to get traffic on the website, it's becoming more expensive day by day, so the only logical thing to do is to find a way how to stay in touch with those who are interested in your product/service.
By collecting email addresses you are collecting assets for a long-term relationship with them.
If you are not doing that, they will come and go. Some of them will buy, but you already know the story that only 3% of your audience are ready to buy now!
So, a simple subscription form from day 1 will make your life easier later.
How I can start with email even earlier???
Let's say you are testing a new idea, new product, new market, whatever new.
Most people will try to find out if that is working without going 100% into that business.
Email marketing could help you.
Have a simple landing page, explain what is this about, make sure to have a good story around it, and then, have a subscription form where you are saying something like 'This X will be launched soon! If you want to find out more and be the first one to get it at a Y% lower price, subscribe to our list below!' (or something like that, I'm not a copywriter, but I know some rules).
And then, just do the simple math, divide the traffic on the website by the number of subscribers and you will have some kind of conversion rate for that stage.
That should help you understand if your idea was in place.
Conclusion
EMAIL IS NOT DEAD!
Cheers!

2 年Exactly, great article! I believe that marketing trends tend to repeat themselves. Reduced activity will be followed by a big comeback.
