Email Marketing is NOT Dead

“Email marketing doesn’t?work.”

“Those figures are made?up.”

“Email Marketing is?dead.”


The number of people stating email marketing is dead is staggering when we live in an age where most online sales take place in email?boxes.

A recent study found that 66% of people buy via email compared to only 20% through Facebook.

I suspect that the ones who say it's dead are also those who have tried and failed to make it?work.

As a marketing consultant, the number one thing I recommend to my clients is to build an email?list.


Why's that? Well...

  1. Email is much more personal and engaging than social?media.
  2. The reader will often read an email as a one-to-one conversation. This builds trust, which is invaluable when you want to make a?sale.
  3. People are more active via email than social media, meaning you'll be in their life more.
  4. With email, you're not bound by the rules of another company's platform, and if said platform bans you or falls out of favour with the majority, you still have your email?list.
  5. You're not bound to the fate of an ever-changing algorithm meaning your content will be delivered straight to your subscriber's inbox every time.


So use social media to build a network and then talk to them predominantly via?email.

Most businesses fail with email marketing because they do it?poorly.

It's not hard to write a good email.

It just takes a bit of effort, but it's an effort that pays off.
