EM4427 joins the em|echo family!
EM Microelectronic continues its more than 30 years’ leading innovator tradition by becoming the first company in the market to introduce an EPC UHF Gen2v3 compliant IC with its newest RAINFC product em|echo-I.
This ground breaking standard dramatically improves the RFID tag inventory operations, by offering superior tag selection mechanisms, while reducing the overall system complexity and cost and improving its efficiency. The new standard version is fully backwards compatible and the product can be used in existing infrastructure.
As the other members of the em|echo family, this new dual-frequency product integrates NFC and RAIN RFID interfaces on a single chip, using the same memory, offering full integration between B2B and B2C use cases. Enabling NFC read removes the need of QR codes, which are a really limiting factor in harsh or industrial environments, where the wear and tear renders them unusable. Thanks to its unique shared memory architecture, the tag data can be read through either radio interface, greatly simplifying operations.
Besides the performance improvements due to the Gen2v3 standard, em|echo-I offers native GS1 Digital link support via both interfaces, with simple, elegant password management, and its 3.5kb? user memory makes it fit for the most demanding applications. The product is compliant with ATA Spec 2000 for low memory tag.
Holger Strietholt, Head of Production, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Comfort Systems at the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) declared: “This new dual frequency design is fully answering the needs of SBB and the railway sector by providing seamless access to the tag data from any interface. We are eager to integrate it in and simplify our maintenance operations”

5 个月We love the new version of the IC. Thanks, EM :-) ?? Many of our RFID tag customers simply can't decide whether to use UHF or NFC. Both worlds are perfectly connected.?In particular, the simple programming of the UHF memory via the NFC interface offers many advantages. As a tag manufacturer, we are happy to be able to offer this option to the railway industry.
