Elucid February 2025: A Month of Collaboration, Innovation, and Impact

February was a whirlwind of activity, with Elucid representing innovative approaches to sustainable supply chains at many events. Across Europe, from Cologne to Zurich to Amsterdam, here’s a recap of the events we attended and our key takeaways:

ISM Cologne 2025: Collaboration at the Forefront

Elucid kicked off the month at ISM Cologne , where Samuel Knauss was on hand to share our perspectives on alternative solutions for household income. The message was clear: collaboration is non-negotiable. From price stability to income diversification, tailored strategies are essential for creating sustainable solutions in supply chains.

Sharing the Elucid perspective about how SMEs (Small and midsize enterprises) can contribute to a living income for cocoa farmers in discussions with industry leaders, and exploring practical tools and approaches together, was a highlight. A special thank you to all the speakers and participants who contributed to the discussion. The theme was reinforced throughout: in order to achieve meaningful impact, we must collaborate.

UBS Social Impact Forum: Scaling Social Enterprises

At the 瑞银集团 Social Impact Forum, Samuel Knauss and Julius Emmrich joined a dynamic group of social entrepreneurs from organizations like Restor , Chancen International and Changing the Way We Care – Help Orphans to discuss the scaling challenges that social enterprises face. One key takeaway was the importance of focus, resilience, and collaboration to scale impact in the social sector.

Amsterdam Cocoa Week & Elucid Social Club Launch

The Amsterdam Cocoa Week , was, as always, a major highlight for us here at Elucid. We didn't just get to participate in inspiring conversations, though: we also officially launched the Elucid Social Club! This initiative brought together 50+ participants from cocoa, coffee, and other industries to focus on integrating health into supply chains.

The key takeaway of the event? Health isn’t just beneficial for farmers; it’s also good for business. Partners like Max Felchlin AG , Tony's Chocolonely , 德国国际合作机构 , and Sucafina shared their experiences of how health access enhances supply chain resilience and why the Elucid approach is beneficial.

Our Cocoa Topic Lead, Rapha?l Felenbok , shared insightful stories like that of Fludor Ghana , which recognizes healthcare as a commercial advantage in securing long-term relationships with farmers and improving retention rates, even in a tough market.

We also awarded our first award! The Bold Ambition Award was awarded to Stephen Ashia from ABOCFA Cooperative and his group, after they pitched the most innovative health and nutrition solution of the event.

We’re excited about the future of the Elucid Social Club as a platform for aligning efforts, securing funding, sharing research, and driving real solutions.

Fruit Logistica 2025: Resilience in Fresh Produce

At the same time as Amsterdam Cocoa Week, Sambhavna Biswas was representing Elucid at, FRUIT LOGISTICA in Berlin. We connected with companies shaping the future of sustainable supply chains in fresh fruits, nuts, and spices. The overriding theme was resilience - businesses are more focused than ever on securing long-term supply while addressing challenges on the ground, such as healthcare access. Sustainability is no longer just a commitment: it's a necessity.

BIOFACH 2025: Healthcare as a Core Pillar of Sustainability

On the heels of Fruit Logistica, Sambhavna B. represented Elucid at BIOFACH , the world’s leading trade fair for organic food and natural cosmetics. Last year’s conversations with farmer representatives from Uganda, Togo, Ghana, and Sierra Leone highlighted healthcare access as a major challenge, however, it was also identified as a key opportunity to strengthen supply chain resilience.

In 2025, the focus was on the need for real resilience in organic supply chains. Farmers with access to health insurance are more likely to reinvest in their farms, fostering stronger livelihoods and helping the supply chain to thrive. We look forward to further exploring how healthcare can be integrated into sustainability strategies with our clients and industry peers.

A Month of Impact and Partnership

February was filled with inspiring conversations, ideas, fresh perspectives, and collaboration with our partners and industry leaders. As we continue to work together, we are excited about the future and the positive impact we can drive in supply chains. Here's to taking bold action and moving forward, together.

Stay tuned for more updates and thanks again to everyone who made February such an impactful month!
