Elscint vibratory feeder for feeding Bullet Cartridge blanks

Elscint recently supplied a customer with 2 bowl feeders for feeding of blanks of

bullet cartridges. Both the bowl feeders were Model 400 with a dia 750 mm big

bowl. The requirement was to feed bullet cartridges in multiple rows. One side

of the brass cartridge was open while the other side was closed. The requirement

was to feed the same with the closed side forward. A variety of cartridge blanks

were to be fed in the same bowl, varying from dia 10 mm to dia 16.50 mm and

length varying from 27 mm to 50 mm. Four outlets were required for each of

these bowl feeders making the same complicated, especially due to the variety

of cartridges to be fed in the same bowl. e open end of the cartridges were

uneven, making the orientation further difficult. Having multiple rows with

such orientation is always a challenge and Elscint provided easy changeover

tooling for the same. The changeover took just 2 minutes. Outlet in all these

cases was given in flexible tubes which the customer could attach to his press where

the parts were fed for further drawing. Elscint used its Model 400 with a cast

aluminium bowl with Elscinthane polyurethane coating for this application. You can watch the video of the
