Elscint Vibratory Bowl Feeder for feeding of small brass inserts

Elscint recently manufactured a bowl feeder for feeding of small brass inserts having size dia 6 mm x 10 mm length. The feeding was required in two outlets in axial orientation. Stainless steel tubes were provided at the outlet and thereafter, PU tubes were attached to the same to take the parts upto the work station of the customer. Elscint used a cast aluminium bowl for this application. The same was coated with Elscinthane PU coating and the tooling was made in stainless steel. As there were two outlets, it was imperative that proper overflow arrangement was provided so that in case any one of the tubes got full, the parts would spill over to the other side and once that too was full, would fall back in the bowl. The customer required a very small bowl feeder as there were space constraints. Hence, Model 160 with a bowl having diameter 300 mm was used for the same. Along with the bowl feeder, two sensors were provided, one on each outlet tube so that in case both the outlet tubes were full, the bowl feeder would be switched off / restarted once anyone of them was empty. A feed rate of 150 parts from each of the tubes was achieved which was much more than the customer’s requirement of 25 parts per minute per row.
