Ya'll KNOW I was going to have thoughts about Elon's Twitter Takeover...
So, if you’ve been following my channel for a while, you may have noticed that I don’t talk a lot about Twitter. While it hasn't been an effective place for me to publish content for my own brand,?historically, it's been a great place to connect with journalists and to establish yourself as a thought leader.
However, in my eyes, Elon's acquisition of the platform will turn Twitter into a cesspool?of misinformation, white nationalism, and misogyny.?

Profits for Purpose IG Live with Amanda Hirsch, Thursday, 05/05 2?PM CT?
This Thursday, I'm thrilled to welcome Amanda Hirsch on my IG Live Series! Amanda is on a mission to fill the world with women's stories. Her women’s storytelling company,?Mighty Forces, helps women and women's organizations to clarify and share their stories in powerful ways, and demands attention for authentic women’s stories in American culture.
Her clients include Melinda French Gates's Pivotal Ventures and Malala Fund, as well as dozens of women leaders across a wide range of industries. She believes that we're looking for the people who are trying to find us. Our stories are like bat signals — beacons that break through the jargon and noise to beam our stories out there for the right people to find. She also believes that telling authentic stories about women is essential to creating a world where women have the same rights and opportunities as men, and where more women lead. And when more women lead — as CEOs, founders. politicians, artists, activists, mothers and more — we create a world in which more people thrive.
Previously Amanda ran Good Things Consulting, which helped nonprofits and other purveyors of good to create content and stories that amplified their impact. Her clients included NPR, TED, and the George Lucas Educational Foundation. Before striking out on her own, Amanda was the editorial director of PBS.org. Amanda is a writer, and her creative work spans TV scripts, books, and personal essays. She also has a background in improv comedy. She lives in New York City with her husband, daughter, and beautiful, tremendously high-strung, rescue dog.
Make sure you are?following me on Instagram?so you don't miss what I'm sure will be an amazing conversation.?

What I'm Listening To
At the dawn of the Civil Rights era, a wealthy African American farmer and veteran named Isadore Banks was lynched on the Arkansas Delta. More than 60 years later, journalists Taylor Hom and Neil Shea join members of the Banks family on a quest to find out who killed Isadore and restore his legacy.
While this murder took place in the 1950's, aspects of this case have through lines to life in 2022 America.?The continued silence of some of the white families featured on this podcast spoke to the fact that in many ways, racial violence is still implicitly condoned. The fact that it took until THIS YEAR for Congress to make lynching a hate crime is one clear example.?
After finishing this series, one thing was clear to me. For things to change, white Americans can no longer sit by in silence.?
Listen to the story of Isadore Banks here,?or wherever you get your podcasts.??
Until next time,
?Mariana, Walter, and Rosie
