Elon Musk has announced he will step down as Twitter’s chief executive after finding a replacement.
“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!” Musk said in a tweet late on Tuesday. “After that, I will just run the software & servers teams.”
Musk’s announcement comes after Twitter users voted for him to step down in a poll created by the platform’s billionaire owner.
Of the 17.5 million votes, 57.5% of respondents said yes, Musk should step down, while 42.5% said he should continue.
Since floating the idea, there has been a barrage of hot takes about who should take on the responsibility of reviving the reliability of the platform the world once knew.
Musk has fully owned Twitter since October 27 and has repeatedly courted controversy as CEO, sacking?half of its staff, readmitting far-right figures to the platform, suspending journalists and trying to charge for previously free services.
Chief-twit has not named his successor for now, but bearing in mind his controversial run, is the Twitter fiasco truly over?

2 年Here, I would like to appreciate something about Musk's decision and his intelligence! If Musk steps down, it means he has taken a step to consolidate the culture of democracy by giving the right to the common people to take the decision. Secondly, Twitter is an inevitable platform to use; it has a great impact on modern-day societies. Third, he is making Twitter inflation-proof. But making it costly can have an adverse impact. Whatever may come for Twitter, one thing is for sure: Musk is an engineer and he will always be finding new solutions, rather than staying at one place, and this is proved by his history.?
