Elon Musk is the new Steve Jobs
After listening to the first chapters of my audio book about Elon Musk, I realized that he is the new Steve Jobs. While Trumps just decided to power up coal mining and the fossil fuel power plants again, Elon's electric cars are an amazing opportunity for the US to become a world leader again in the automotive car industry, and bring back many jobs to the US.
The book called "Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future" shows us a very intelligent person that suffered a harsh childhood, consisting of a difficult father and being bullied horrendously at school. He actually reminds me a lot of Sheldon in The big bang theory: Highly intelligent, nerdy, visionary, having wild ideas that are far fetched for others, difficulty in "reading" other people and very entrepreneurial.
I also realize that he is very much like Steve Jobs. Visionary, decisive and convinced of his own ideas as being much better than those of others. A difficult boss as well. Sometimes very harsh to his employees, demanding extreme effort. As a self- taught programmer, he would correct the code of his own engineers, who very actually very good at their job.
I also realize now that we have gotten a bit used to the yearly new product demos by Apple. No offense, Apple produces beautiful, high quality, high tech products, but it is not as revolutionary anymore as before.
Elon Musk produces real breakthroughs: A reusable rocket making spaceflight much cheaper, the electric high-performance car with Tesla, Solarcity and the hyperloop.
It looks like we do not need servant leaders for high-tech revolutions, as is often promoted in many companies and agile communities. Leaders that cause real breakthroughs are visionary, hard working, stubborn but still adaptable, abrasive and not always very friendly......... My kind of hero.
