Elon Musk, Mars & the Race to Monetize Mars

Elon Musk has inspired a new generation with his plan to go to Mars and make our species interplanetary. Curiously, these also align with the inner ideals of Amazon and Blue Origin CEO, Jeff Bezos, for they both understand that to monetize going to Mars, means profit and also that dream coming faster that in their lifetime Earth civilization's future can be safeguarded for centuries.
As Important as Saving Humanity
It's not just space tourism here we are talking about, it's the start of new empires, the building of a new civilization, new horizons for innovation and a Plan B.
The rising dangers for our civilization's survival in evolution must be addressed, for as we evolve technologically the dangers and new ways of going extinct increase greatly.
As we say our goodbyes to maybe the best President we have ever had, even Barak Obama himself has called up us to consider Humans on Mars more seriously.
We have set a clear goal vital to the next chapter of America's story in space: sending humans to Mars by the 2030s and returning them safely to Earth, with the ultimate ambition to one day remain there for an extended time. - Barak Obama (Speech made October 10th, 2016).
Corporate Interests are Good for Mars Colonization Establishment
The race to establish profitable colonies on Mars is only dwarfed by the race to establish self-learning artificial intelligence. That the race to Mars is between SpaceX and NASA as some have suggested, is likely not accurate.
It's far more likely, to be between China and the combined corporate interests of America such as SpaceX, Boeing, Blue Origin, etc...
What is the Inter Planetary Dream About?
If we are to believe the optimism of Elon Musk, it's not just manned missions to Mars by the 2030s, it's full colonization program to be initiated before then. It's the dream of generations of thinkers that humanity needs a plan B, a viable "splinter colony" to improve our chance of surviving indefinitely in an unpredictable and random galaxy.

Real Entrepreneurs will go to Mars
We all have an opinion about the future. in a world accelerating into an exponential era. I personally side with the camp that's childishly optimistic about what this could mean for humanity.
Mars may be at its closest approach 33.9 million miles away, but humanity must train itself in the decade ahead to prepare for a quantum evolution hitting us from all sides.
Even if that's the distance of equal to more than 1360 trips around the earth, we need Elon, Bezos, China and stronger global economy and corporate interests to take us there, to make this happen, as soon as possible.
If you are somewhat aware, NASA has run out of promises, chances and hope. NASA's record shows it isn't serious and won't get the funding required. Corporate interests will win the race to Mars, unless China gets there first.
When there is a will there is a way, the colonization of Mars symbolizes humanity's adolescence of growing up to be a technological society and a space-faring civilization.

Multiplanetary Species
Elon Musk's vision and plan is important, it frames the collective reality as a point of reference, a goal to unite people to work towards.
Mr. Musk estimates it would cost $10 billion to develop the rocket, and he said the first passengers to Mars could take off as soon as 2024 if the plans went off without a hitch.
- SpaceX founder Elon Musk plans to get humans to Mars as early as 2024.
- Elon Musk pledges personal wealth to manifest this goal: Making Humans a Multiplanetary Species.
- Elon Musk quoted as saying trip to Mars could cost about $200,000 (USD) for a one-way trip.
Are We on a Path to Extinction?
There were “two fundamental paths” facing humanity today. “One is that we stay on Earth forever and then there will be an inevitable extinction event,” he said. “The alternative is to become a space-faring civilization, and a multi-planetary species.”
The risks for explorers and those who colonize Mars could be great, but the idea of a self-sustaining colony on Mars could ensure the survival of the human race.
With the U.S set to spend1 trillion $ dollars to upgrade its nuclear arms, you have to wonder at the priorities we are making.
Should the colonization of Mars be a priority for a global economy barely recovered from the great recession of 2008? No matter the costs, the benefits could mean a second chance at life.
