Elliott's UK Ted Tugwell Runs for Charity

This month, Shachihata took part in sponsorship of our client Ted Tugwell, tool sales manager for Elliott Brothers LTD, in his race for charity at The Simplyhealth Great South Run.

Running for his wife Angela, Ted’s heart will be in every stride. We’ve been lucky enough to grab an interview with him prior to this Sunday, the 20th for the run.

We hear you’re going to run this weekend! Can you tell us a little bit about the event?

The Great South Run is a 10 mile race around Portsmouth. Over 30,000 people of all abilities take part and millions of pounds are raised for charities. 

We're looking forward to it! Why did you decide to do a charity run?

When my wife died in 2013 we wanted something to focus on and to raise money for Jo's Trust who helped Angela. We keep fit all year preparing for it too and run in memory of Angela.

Can you tell us about Angela? Your family?

Angela was a brilliant mum to Emma, a great wife to me, loyal sister to Julie and beloved daughter to Roger and Jen. She was loved by all that knew her and bravely battled advanced cervical cancer despite poor odds.

I was lucky to have her in my life for 22 years and she made me so happy.

Her spirit and beauty lives on in [our daughter] Emma. 

We're wishing you the best of luck in keeping Angela's spirit alive. Where is the money you’re raising going?

How much money have you raised? How much more do you need to go?

We have raised ￡170,000 for them on Angela's tribute fund so far. [And] 30,000 more for our main target hopefully by end of 2020.

The run team should generate three-thousand five hundred pounds!
