ECI was called to Chicago’s University Village to replace a barrier gate as shown above. We furnished and installed ELKA’s P5000, one in the line ELKA vehicle parking barriers. ELKA barrier gates provide a wide range of solutions for various applications, including parking facilities, commercial properties and other secure entrances.
The barrier housings are made of aluminum with powder-coated finishes available in standard colors or custom options. They accommodate both left and right rectangular boom configurations without alteration.
Each has three selectable speeds and adjustable opening angles as well as three vehicle detector loop (shown in pavement) inputs. Its six multi-functional relays allow for integration with other security systems.
Available options include
The ELKA Barriers Series includes five models (P2500 to P5000), each tailored for different needs. Each model varies primarily in boom length and running time while maintaining the same high-quality construction and operational features.
The various boom lengths are:
Articulating arms (for low ceiling heights) and round boom configurations are optional for all but the P5000 model. Because of the long P5000 boom length, a swinging or fixed support is required mid length.
University Village is often described as a vibrant neighborhood on the Chicago’s Near West Side. It is known for its diverse community and blend of residential, commercial and educational spaces. It is proximate to the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). One goal here was to match the barrier gates used at UIC.
