Elite means access for all

Elite means access for all

One of the most exciting parts of my job is the work my teammates and I get to do in support of the Olympics and Paralympics. For more than 30 years Panasonic has been a proud supporter of Team USA, and every two years, it’s an immense honor to have our technologies help bring the Games to life for millions around the world. Most recently, our partnership with the US Olympic & Paralympic Museum team and Team USA reached a major milestone with the opening of the US Olympic & Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs.

“We’re excited to bring to life one of the most immersive and accessible Olympic museum experiences in the world.” Joe Conover, national manager at Panasonic System Solutions Company of North America

In my work supporting Panasonic as a U.S. Paralympic Team sponsor and personally as an advocate for peoples with disabilities, I am most proud that all guests that visit the museum will have the ability to experience these inspiring stories.

Team USA Paralympic athletes provided guidance to help design the 60,000 square foot space, including exhibits from the Hall of Fame to the Parade of Nations experience. ADA compliant throughout, every area of the museum has been inclusively designed with assistive technologies, such as open captions, audio-description tracks, assisted listening, universal keypads, RFID-triggered customizations, accessible exhibit spaces with ramped experiences and more.

More than medals

For the past three years, with incredible support from our Immersive Experiences team, we’ve had the very unique opportunity to shape the ways fans and families from all over the world experience U.S. Olympic and Paralympic history. In Colorado Springs, our visual designers have once again integrated our cutting-edge projection technology throughout the museum.

My colleague Joe Conover recently spoke with avinteractive.com about his team’s work and our history of supporting Olympic Museums -- supplying sustainable, immersive solutions for international museums from Switzerland to Tokyo and now here in the U.S.

As the 2021 Games are just under one year away, our passion for supporting Team USA goes well beyond the gold, silver and bronze. What moves us is every athletes’ unique story and the power it has to inspire us all.
