On the E.L.I.T.E Journey

A young commerce graduate from Delhi University joined a big corporate firm as his first job. Tense yet excited to begin his corporate journey, he was determined to make an positive impact in his first job ever. Days progressed and he developed a keen interest in BFSI sector paired with an even keener interest in technology and how it impacts the banks. To pursue this, he went on to work for a gargantuan public sector bank. While working there, he realised the role technology has to play in the 21st century banking and how much is still desired to be done in this space. Even without any formal education in the tech space, he was able to understand the lack of technological implementation and adaptation by the big banks in India and across the world. Digital transformation in the FS sector seemed to be a very interesting and futuristic space to be in. On doing a simple google search, Capgemini emerged as a leader in this space.

This was where I first learnt about the E.L.I.T.E GMP. The accelerated growth trajectory was very unparalleled. The Summer internship presentation by the company executives furthered my interest in this unique, young and very well rounded program. Capgemini was amongst the most talked about companies at campus that year and I was fortunate enough to get a chance to interview with the senior leaders of the organisation. What followed at the interview was a pleasant surprise. I felt really comfortable talking to the senior leaders showing how the culture of the organisation was. I was elated to know that I was amongst the 3 who had gotten selected to intern with the organisation.

The Internship started even before the 8 weeks with a quick call with the team and other interns to get the ball rolling. This call set the context for the next 8 weeks at the company. 

The first week was getting to know Capgemini through the lens of various leaders from different and varied domains and accounts. Each one had unique and fond memories of working with Capgemini and most were itching to go back to office and meet their colleagues again. We got know a lot about the organisation and what it does for numerous clients all over the globe. We also got an insight into the impact of Capgemini's work on the society and how the company was working with the front-line workers in fighting this pandemic. The induction week set up the rest of the 7 weeks in context. 

For the next 7 weeks, all the interns worked on projects from varied domains. Each one with its own sets of challenges and learning curve. As we set out to achieve our project objectives, we had the constant support of the E.L.I.T.E family throughout the way. E.L.I.T.E is a very closely knit family with everyone looking out for each other and helping out in every way possible. This helped us deliver on our projects and well, Go beyond!

The E.L.I.T.E internship was never only learning and work. We had our fair share of e-parties and fun nights along the way to keep us recharged and ready to cruise. 

After one hell of 8 weeks with the company came to a close, I was eagerly waiting to be given an opportunity to work with the organisation in a permanent role. On a lazy afternoon in the last week of October, an email landed in my inbox and ended my wait and anxiety. The fact that some of the visionaries of the industry had shown faith in the capabilities was truly humbling.

As I embark upon this exciting journey with the company, I hope I am able to channel all the excitement into delivering material results for my clients while having fun along the way. Here's to looking forward to an enriching, fun and truly ELITE experience coming my way!
