ELIA Networking Days 2023: Insights from Krakow

In late September, I had the privilege of representing Baltijos vertimai * BV Translations at the ELIA Networking Days held in the picturesque city of #Krakow (28–29 September 2023). These two days were a whirlwind of #discussions, #networking, and industry #insights, leaving an indelible mark on my journey in the language services sector. 1. Moderating Round Table Discussions: One of the highlights of the ELIA Networking Days was the opportunity to moderate two thought-provoking round table #discussions. The first discussion revolved around the "Evolution of the Role of Project Management," where industry professionals shared their insights on the changing landscape of project management in the language services sector. The second discussion explored "LSP Pricing Strategy," providing valuable perspectives on #pricing models and #strategies. Facilitating these discussions allowed me to gain fresh perspectives and engage in enriching dialogues with fellow attendees.

2. Networking Extravaganza: ELIA Networking Days lived up to its name by providing an unparalleled platform for networking. Meeting like-minded #professionals, forging new connections, and rekindling existing ones made this event truly special. The exchange of ideas, experiences, and industry #trends during coffee breaks, lunches, and evening gatherings was #invaluable. These connections not only broaden our horizons but also form the foundation for future #collaborations.

3. A New Chapter on the ELIA Board: ELIA Networking Days also marked the beginning of my second term on the Board of Directors for the ELIA - European Language Industry Association (ELIA). Serving on the #board has been a rewarding experience, and I'm excited to continue contributing to the association's growth and development. ELIA plays a vital #role in shaping the language services industry, and I'm honored to be part of this journey.

4. Changing of the Guard: A heartfelt thank you to Diego Cresceri for his remarkable tenure as the #president of ELIA. His #dedication and #leadership have been instrumental in guiding the association. As Diego steps down, we warmly welcome our new president, Anu Carnegie-Brown . With her vision and passion, I am confident that she will #continue to steer ELIA toward greater heights and advocate for the betterment of our #industry.

5. Karaoke Fun and Networking Dinner: Amidst the enriching discussions and professional development, we also found time for a bit of fun during the Networking Dinner. Karaoke took center stage, and it was an absolute #blast! It was incredible to see industry professionals showcasing their hidden #talents and letting loose in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Moments like these remind us that while we are passionate about our work, we can also have a great time together.

ELIA Networking Days 2023 was an enriching experience that reaffirmed the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and staying connected in our dynamic industry.
