Elfie spends the day with our Key Account Manager
To help us through the festive period we hired a seasonal support worker. Elfie joins us on a secondment from the North Pole as Head of CS (Christmas Services) and will be working closely with our Customer Services Team and Account Managers. He is new to the conveyancing industry, but we are confident he will be able to help us achieve our festive cheer targets and delivery times.??
He started off his week being trained up by the Customer Service team. Elfie’s a fast learner (although not quite as fast as he is a toy maker) and has quickly gotten to grips with the conveyancing industry and the CON29DW. Last year when he built a new gingerbread house, he made sure his solicitor ordered a CON29DW to ensure he had complete and accurate drainage and water data, so he was familiar with the contents of the report. He can now answer the trickiest of questions from drainage details to mapping complex plots with precision, elf-ficiency, and a sprinkle of festive cheer.??
On Tuesday he hit the road with our Key Account Manager, Kay Toon , to visit some of our clients and start working towards our festive cheer targets. As you know, client care plays a crucial role in the service we offer, so it was important Elfie got the chance to meet our customers and understand some of the day-to-day challenges they face.??
In the first office he visited with Kay he was reunited with an old work colleague, Rudolf. They worked together for many years for a toy manufacturer somewhere in the North. Both the conveyancing and Christmas industries are small worlds, and it is always nice to run into a friendly face. Later in the day, he was up to his usual mischievous tricks and tried to make off with a polar bear tree decoration. After Kay explained they were there to spread Christmas cheer, and not steal it, he was much better behaved.?

The next day Elfie and Kay had a busy day with lots more client visits. With a bit of festive magic, Elfie was able to help Kay keep a tight delivery schedule – as taught by the big man himself. After being told off for helping himself to a client's advent calendar, he was given a drumming lesson from not one but twelve drumming (teddy bear) drummers which brought much amusement to the clients. He is hoping to take this new skill with him to future client meetings and back to the North Pole.?
Elfie thought he would be helpful and give Kay a break from all the driving by taking the reins. Unfortunately, this was not as helpful as he thought it would be and Kay wasn’t too impressed with his driving skills. Turns out sleighs and reindeer are much easier to handle as an elf! So rather than drive home, Elfie hit the mulled wine and had a little too much fun swinging from baubles at the last client meeting of the day.?
Thanks to the hard work of Elfie and Kay, we are a little closer to reaching our Christmas cheer targets. Due to prior commitments, Elfie’s secondment is only for 24 days as he leaves us on Christmas Eve. But he is making a substantial impact on our business, and we couldn’t be happier with his progress. Make sure you are following us on LinkedIn to find out how the rest of his time with us goes.?
