Instagram founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger are launching a new social app called “Artifact”, a combination of articles, facts and? artificial intelligence, which will provide users with curated news articles based on their engagement and interests. Artifact will provide these curated news stories via a similar algorithm to that of TikTok. Developers are currently looking into adding a following feed and messaging features to the app, in addition to the social elements.?

TikTok are kicking off their Black History Month celebrations with the debut of their Black visionary voices list and the in app #BlackTikTok programming hub, which will feature music, playlists, a live lineup and a series highlighting the inspiring Black voices on TikTok. The visionary voices will recognise 15 Black creators who are innovators in their fields, using TikTok to educate, entertain and advocate for the Black community and making a big impact on and off the app.

Following its success, especially amongst teenagers, in the US and Asia in December 2022, Instagram is now expanding ‘Notes’ access to users in Europe and Japan in February 2023. Notes are short posts up to 60 characters long which are displayed at the top of users' inboxes for 24-hours, and can be made visible to either all connections or just those on your close friends list.?

LinkedIn has revealed their 2022 performance highlights found in Microsoft's Q2 FY23 Earnings report. LinkedIn saw record engagement in 2022: they reached a total of 900+ million members, with three members signing up every second and over 80% of said members from outside the US. They also discovered that users are “increasingly investing in their skill-building” to keep up with the change in roles and industries they work in. So, in response to this, LinkedIn currently offers more than 20,000 courses in 11 languages.?

ChatGTP are introducing their new ChatGTP Plus subscription plan which will be available from $20 per month, allowing subscribers access to benefits including: General access to Chat GTP even during peak times, faster response times, and priority access to new updates and features. Currently, this feature is available to US customers only, and Open AI will begin inviting users from their waitlist in the coming weeks, with additional countries being added soon.?
Meta has announced their Meta Certified Company program, in which brands, agencies and businesses can be recognised to have advanced Expertise in digital advertising specifically on the Meta platforms. To gain this certification, your business must meet the Meta Blueprint certifications in 1 of 5 areas: Meta Media, Certified Company, Meta Marketing Science, Certified Company, Meta Creative Strategy, Certified Company, Meta Community Management, Certified Company and Meta Spark, Certified Company. Becoming Meta Certified means that your business is recognised by Meta as having proven digital expertise which can lead to “higher quality work, a greater understanding of Meta technologies and more efficient campaigns”.

Pinterest and Condé Nast Entertainment (CNE) have announced a global partnership with two of CNE’s most iconic brands; Vogue and Architectural Digest. Within this deal both brands will produce 160+ videos exclusively for Pinterest aligned with the platform’s key seasonal and cultural moments starting with Fashion Month in February, followed by Wedding Season, Summer, and Back to School. Condé Nast Is already one of the longest standing Pinterest publishers with over 40 profiles and tens of millions of views globally.
