Elevator Pitch

I was meeting for coffee with a good friend of mine today and the subject of "pitching" came up. Now understand something I don't judge anyone for how they conduct business (if it doesn't harm other folks) but words like "pitch" especially "elevator pitch" makes my damn stomach hurt. I am not a surface conversation kind of guy. I don't want to talk to you about the weather, or how many points your favorite player did or did not score.

I like to go a little deeper than that. I love learning about other human beings and what they're up to. So when it comes to the subject of myself or an event that I'm going to be doing if you only have 60 seconds for me, you are not the kind of person I would usually engage with in the first place. I have never been in an elevator long enough to hear someone's life journey (And I've been in the Burj Khalifa) nor have I given someone 60 seconds to tell me their purpose. We are obsessed with acting like every new encounter is an episode of shark tank.

On April 28th I am running my 10th Positivity Summit in Dorset England. I have not pitched it once. All I can say is that it's going to be an amazing day of connection with positive human beings. If you love the way that sounds you can come, and if not you don't have to. I have messaged thousands of people in the past to get 50 with that same exact message. See you there..
