There Is No Elevation Without Wilderness

To My Extraordinary In-Betweeners,

There is no elevation without wilderness. This thought, inspired by Dr. Dharius Daniels in one of his talks, gave me a glimpse of the extraordinary “next” I keep urging myself to reach for. The wilderness—that uncertain space between the dismantling of one career and the call to the next—can be treacherous.

As I prepare for my own reset, I encourage you to find time in that in-between space for your own renewal. But when you allow yourself to think of your life in that light, you start to see how remarkably you’ve been made.

Here are two actions for you to take today to support your journey:

1. 1. Identify One Goal in Your Wilderness: Take 15 minutes to reflect on one small goal that brings clarity to your “next.” Write it down and commit to making a small step towards it this week.
2. 2. Affirm Your Vision of Extraordinary: Start each morning by declaring something extraordinary about yourself, even if it feels bold or uncomfortable. Embrace this as part of your daily routine.
