Elevating women on and off the course: Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit

Last week, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit.

Having been on-site at the Championship last week, I was struck by the extraordinary impact that this platform has made over the last 10 years. In conversations with Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) players, KPMG clients and more, the gratitude for what KPMG is doing to elevate women on and off the golf course has been overwhelming. I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved and couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.

PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh said, “I think what KPMG has done has lit the flame for all sorts of things going on (in women’s golf) …they deserve a lot of credit for that. They were the first mover. They did it for all the right reasons, to do good – and they did well.”

The big picture: For the past 10 years, 毕马威 has been making the difference for women in business, golf and beyond through the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Elevating women’s golf: Over the past decade, KPMG has been a catalyst for lasting change in women’s golf, driving significant and measurable impact across key indicators through the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

  • The courses: By staging play in major markets like New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago and Seattle - and at the most iconic courses that have previously hosted men’s championships – KPMG has started a broader movement across women’s golf to ensure LPGA players gain greater exposure and have the top opportunities to compete.
  • The purse: The average LPGA Major purses have nearly tripled and total purses on the LPGA Tour increased to more than $125M – nearly a 125% increase. Since the inception of the partnership between KPMG, the PGA of America and LPGA Tour, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship purse has increased by more than 360%, from $2.25M to $10.4M.
  • The network TV coverage: The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship tripled the hours of network TV coverage since its inception via NBC Sports and Golf Channel , with additional hours of live golf coverage streamed on Peacock – 26 hours of live coverage in 2024.
  • The next step: This year, KPMG joined forces with T-Mobile and the PGA of America on a new collaboration to drive technology innovation in women’s golf and enhance the experience of the players, fans and the media. By giving players access to real-time performance feedback, this technology gave women golfers access to the same insights already available to the men.

Take a look back at this year's Championship:

Advancing women in business: Hosted in conjunction with the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship each year, the goal for the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit is clear: to help more women in business move into the C-suite. The KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit brings together today’s most accomplished leaders in business, politics, sports and the media to inspire rising women leaders who are nominated by the CEOs of their organizations to participate.

  • By the numbers: Nearly 3,000 rising women leaders have attended our Summit over the years. We are proud that 69% of past Summit attendees have been promoted since attending the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, including 38% to the C-Suite in leading organizations across the country. On Wednesday, we released our sixth annual KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit Report, which focuses on the progress made in advancing women to the C-suite.
  • This year: The Summit brought together women leaders from 150 of the world’s leading brands to join ‘cohorts’ led by KPMG leaders, fostering connection and aiming to Inspire Greatness.

Here's a look back at some of the top moments and insights from this year’s Summit:

Preparing future generations of women leaders: Funded by net proceeds from the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, the KPMG Future Leaders Program is a charitable initiative focused on developing future generations of women leaders through college scholarships, mentoring and leadership development. Many of the recipients may not have had the chance to attend college without this support.

  • Driving impact: Nearly $6.2 million in scholarships have been awarded to 188 female students from around the country through the KPMG Future Leaders Program. More than 70% of Program participants are people of color, and many are first generation college students.

We are grateful to work with incredible partners – the PGA of America, LPGA Tour and NBC – on the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
