Organizational Performance Improvement through Leadership, Culture & Strategic Execution
Everyone knows the primary route of relationship building begins with the time spent having quality conversations with your sphere of influence.
But few organizations fully capitalize on just how powerful they really are in learning and development.
Breaking it all down: Why Conversations Matter
Conversations used as a conduit to learning has actually been around for almost 40 years now. It was studied by English cybernetician & psychologist Gordan Pask, in his conversation theory in 1975.
Pask’s inspired (and quite noble) goal & desire was to figure out ways to combat terrorism, oppression, and social conflict. His vision was of a healthy society, in which there is unity without uniformity, love, peace, and justice for all.
Who knew that such a strategically lead approach to understand talking was grounded in such a powerful purpose?
The critical method of learning according to Conversation Theory is "teach back" in which one person teaches another what they have learned.”
Learning occurs through directed and practiced conversations about a specific subject matter which intern makes comprehension of new knowledge clear.
Conversational approaches to learning allows you to fully digest and share perspectives on how the new information may or may not resonate.
It’s no wonder that our facilitated Peer Learning Groups at our esteemed Global Institute for Leadership Development aka GILD & our Women in Leadership aka WIL pack the most impactful punch for our participants.
Another premier program, is our Linkage 20 Conversations series. It is the perfect way for senior & c-suite executives acquire new knowledge in a setting that invites the exchange of ideas, expanding mindsets and to experience breakthroughs.
When appropriately structured - meaning lead with dynamic faculty & groundbreaking up to the minute research - our programs foster the ability to exchange new ideas & concepts, allows participants to expand perspectives and inner biases, as well as create entirely new paradigm shifts.
Calendar those Conversations
The good news is, you don’t have to wait to attend one of these programs to apply this super power today. The next time you learn/read a new piece of information that moves you if you truly want to retain it, then take a pro-active approach to your own ‘teach-back’ conversation.
Schedule a coffee & conversation with an esteemed colleague to share what you learned. This will dramatically increase your ability to retain new information as well as enhance your personal relationship. And in today’s ever essence fast past world, is simply priceless.
