Are there any prerequisites?

Registering for any of the CIPP certification exams can be done on the IAPP website, where the duration of the exam is for 150 minutes, and 90 multiple-choice questions are asked. The exams are available in English, French, and German.

Fees, renewal process, and renewal period

For the candidates attending the exam for the first time, the fee is $550. $375 is charged for retaking the exams. IAPP requires a waiting period of at least 30 days between the failed and subsequent attempt to pass the same test.

If you need to reschedule or cancel your exam appointment, you can do so on the IAPP website. Rescheduling/cancellations for testing centers must be done more than 48 hours before the scheduled exam

If you’re holding one or more IAPP certifications and considering adding others, you will receive a discounted price of $375 on any future exams.

The candidates must schedule and complete their exams within one year of purchase. If not the exam fees will be fortified.

The maintenance fee differs for non-members and members of IAPP. For non-members, $250 is charged which will cover the certification of a two-year term.

In the case of members, the maintenance fee is already included in the IAPP membership benefits, which renews annually.
