1 年"What’s that 'crucial moment' you became a changemaker for your teams?" At a previous employer, several years ago, the company's product was almost all VB6 with a crucial smattering of C. The company bought another company with a similar product in a very similar vertical market. There was no technical due diligence done on the codebase we were buying for their product. Since their product was written in C# (.NET 2.0 at the time), they realized only after the purchase was completed that someone had to integrate their codebase in C# with ours in legacy VB6. The architecture was such that the VB6 code had to host the C# UI and library components so it would act as 1 product. The original authors of the C# code couldn't figure it out. The "top" software engineer at our company couldn't figure it out. As a last resort, the VP of Software Development (a Java software engineer, and a brilliant one at that) asked me on a Friday if I could find a solution. I already knew of the problem and had researched the complexities of both directions of COM Interop. On the Monday following, I demoed a simple VB6 program that hosted a C# UI component and a C# library component. That was my crucial moment to build a lead a team to success.
