The Elements of A Good Sales Story

"Stories have the most impact when they are told with a purpose in mind." These are the words of my former guest, Todd Mitchem. He also shares what he believes are the 3 elements of a sales story.

(1) The setup. This is where a lot of people struggle. The setup into the story often drags too long, leaving the prospect uninterested and the meaning lost. When you have confidence in your story's impact and the impact of your solution, you'll be able to go right into your story and help your client find its point. (2) The struggle. Share an experience that relates to your customer's problem. Prospects need to know that you are aware of their problems and are familiar with how to solve them. (3) Dictate the solution. Share the benefits and successes that a your clients have experienced from implementing your solution.

Prospects need to know that you are aware of their problems and familiar with how to solve them.

It takes genuine practice to get stories right. And it often takes some trial and error. But when done correctly, it will be one of your most effective tools. People still make decisions emotionally, and then justify them later logically.

I share this with you because I want you to succeed in all things, and to go out and do big things!
