This month we're releasing our Elements of Eternity Lookbook??? featuring merch that epitomizes our Design for Eternity mindset with quality fabric, bold design, and coherent brand identity! When you design with that mindset, you give merch the opportunity to be worn until the end of time.

Elements of Eternity???
The Elements of Eternity Lookbook
The infinity symbol??? is a perfect encapsulation of the concept of eternity as we apply it to brand identity: an interconnected whole where all elements flow together seamlessly and endlessly.
What does that look like for Residency? When building our therapy program, we wanted to create something that would allows us to create eternal positive ripples while remaining a small company. Now, our therapy participants can schedule sessions as they please, and are sponsored indefinitely. The Residency Therapy Program allows people in need to take healing into their own hands.
Alongside our Therapy Program, we want to advocate for small business and for what will help our businesses thrive into eternity. The world does not cater to small business so we have to band together and learn from each other!
Design?for Eternity Note: When posting about your merch, it can be beneficial to tag us (@ResidencyApparel) and include a description about how your merch helps support women transitioning into permanent housing. That way, your audience knows more context to the merch and our collective mission! We're up to 13 participants in our Residency Therapy Program receiving sponsorship indefinitely, in part thanks to your business and support.

Vibing in Deep Space With Von Neumann Probes
Our Future Machines May Actually Live Forever
A recurring topic in interstellar exploration and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) is the role of artificial intelligence. More precisely, these are programs or devices that are capable of performing cognitive tasks at similar or even superior levels to humans such as image recognition, reasoning, decision-making etc. Such systems are likely to play an important role in future deep space missions, notably interstellar exploration, where the spacecraft needs to act autonomously.
Imagine it's 1968 and you're seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey ?? for the first time. Beyond the critical acclaim and unconventional film-making techniques, the basic plot is like any other science fiction film - possible only in some distant future. But if we look at all of the space exploration and research advancements since then, maybe that future isn’t so distant after all.
The scientist John Von Neumann came up with the concept of self-replicating probes that could be the future of interstellar travel ??. The idea is that once built, the AI probe itself would have the tools, supplies, and overall intelligence to land on other planets and mine materials which would then be used to craft replicas of itself, that would then create replicas, and so on. The theory includes that the replication rate would be so fast that there could be millions, if not billions of these probes traveling across our galaxy in a relatively “short” amount of time. Technically, if the probes continue to advance in artificial intelligence as they replicate, they could go on replicating well, forever.
Von Neumann’s theory includes the idea that these self-replicating probes might already exist if there are intelligent civilizations on other planets in other galaxies - that we just don’t know of yet. And if that were the case, there could be any number of these probes on, near, or around Earth ??, researching and gathering information about our own planet and its inhabitants.
Again, designing or discovering anything like one of these self-replicating probes is still part of some unknown future, but whether the result is a machine with the intelligence of HAL 9000 or the trillionth replication of a dust spec-sized spacecraft able to travel to the most distant star, the combination of fiction and reality continue to collide. ??
