Vedanta Lanjigarh is making its fuel mix more sustainable with the deployment of biomass for power generation. Incorporating 20 tonnes of biomass briquettes as fuel daily at its world-class alumina refinery, the unit is not just reducing its carbon footprint but rewriting the narrative of responsible industrial practices. This move is set to mitigate over 10,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually while reducing the dependence on fossil fuels.

At the 171st Railway Divas, Vedanta Jharsuguda’s Railways team was felicitated by the Indian Railways. This was owing to the unit emerging as the highest revenue generator for the Indian Railways within its Sambalpur Division. Inaugurating Fill-Less Cooling Tower technology for sustainable operations

Vedanta Jharsuguda has successfully commissioned a Fill-Less Induced Draft Mist Cooling Tower with a capacity of 2500 m3/hr. This first-of-its-kind technology in the domestic aluminium sector is a significant leap towards improving asset reliability by the usage of sustainable and energy-efficient industrial cooling systems. Benefits include more sustainable operations and enhanced plant reliability.

VGCB's Waste-to-Wealth craft program: Empowering women through sustainability

Vizag General Cargo Berth undertook an innovative crafts training program towards empowering thirty women to explore traditional arts like clay pot making and embroidery. Uniquely, it focused on utilizing discarded materials such as non-stick pans and glass bottles. Through hands-on training, the women were equipped with skills for entrepreneurship while also championing environmental consciousness. This program aims to ignite a ripple effect of positive change within communities.

Celebrating World Book Day enthusiastically at Vedanta Jharsuguda!

On the occasion of World Book Day, employes and family members participating in a collection drive at Vedanta Jharsuguda donated over 1000 books to the kids of Nand Ghar and also to the District Library, Jharsuguda. As part of our commitment to fostering a culture of sharing and caring through our Transforming the Community initiative, employees and their families enthusiastically participated in the Book Donation drive. Several employee volunteers joined in to facilitate the donation of books, followed by a reading and interaction session with the children at Nand Ghar.
