Meet the rivals of ChatGPT

With the continued success of OpenAI’s NLP model,?which recently released its GPT-4 version, it comes as no surprise that rivals of ChatGPT are popping up left, right, and centre.

微软 , despite being a $10bn investor in ChatGPT, has been developing its own rival of the service, named Bing AI. Microsoft’s Bing AI is one of the more notable rivals of ChatGPT in regards to the AI powering it. Bing AI is a powerful system that uses a combination of machine learning, NLP, and computer vision to provide its users with intelligent search results, personalised recommendations, a chat service, and more.

Ernie Bot is another NLP model that is in the works by Chinese tech giant Baidu, which maintain the largest Chinese search engine. Ernie stands for ‘Enhanced Representation through kNowledge IntEgration,’

Branson’s Virgin Orbit files for bankruptcy

Sir Richard Branson’s satellite launch company Virgin Orbit has filed for bankruptcy in the US after failing to obtain new investment.

Virgin Orbit’s boss Dan Hart claimed that despite taking “great efforts” to address its finances and secure more funding, “we ultimately must do what is best for the business.” Virgin Orbit will now concentrate its efforts to find a buyer for the business to “to provide clarity on the future of the company to its customers, vendors and employees.”

Melissa Quinn , Head of Spaceport Cornwall , labelled the news about Virgin Orbit was "very sad" but said the site and team would "remain focused on furthering the international space industry".
