Electronic Landscapes: Music, Space and Resistance in Detroit
A publication and exhibition of photographs five years in the making that celebrates the city’s electronic musicians. It is a testament to an extraordinary creative community of musicians, producers and djs determined to innovate as stakeholders in shaping Detroit’s future. Their efforts to resist displacement amidst the city’s changing landscape is an inspiration for other communities facing similar challenges.
The Heidelberg Project in Detroit, a non-profit arts institution spearheaded by artist/activist Tyree Guyton, will premiere the exhibition in May 2020 in parallel with Movement, the city's Electronic Music Festival. The exhibition will be available to tour.
The first-edition book includes 65 photographs, 2 essays, designed by Artist + Publishers Services, published by +KGP, expected May 2020. We have launched a Kickstarter campaign and asking for your participation in getting Electronic Landscapes the funding it needs by December 6th. (Kickstarter is all or nothing!) We are off to a good start with nearly 10% raised of our $15k goal, but with just over 3 weeks to go there’s no time to waste.
Please check out the link and the several ways you can get involved. And THANK YOU!
