Electronic Health Records are Necessary to Health Service Delivery
Electronic health records systems (EHRs) are winning the war against paper records and becoming a necessity to human healthcare. The debate is no longer about their relevance to healthcare but about overcoming barriers to their adoption.
The World Health Organization's Global Strategy on Digital Health, 2020 to 2025, aims to support countries to establish mechanisms and applications that enable them utilize health data for better health outcomes. Eswatini and Zambia are among countries in Southern Africa in a state of advancement towards fully functional EHRs.
