Electronic Archiving

There is a belief among people that electronic archiving is the process of converting paper documents and documents into electronic documents by scanning them through scanners, and storing them in some way through common storage media. According to this belief, many governmental and private establishments undoubtedly believe that they have archived all their files and paper documents and that they are ready to enter the digital world and enter the e-government.

?The fact is that this concept - if we assume its correctness - contradicts our modern age, which is filled with electronic documents, which are already stored on electronic storage media and do not require any scanning processes from us. Does this mean that they are archived? If this was the case, there would be no need for content management systems or electronic archiving systems, and we would just save them on the hard disk of the computer and the matter would be over.

?Of course, this is illogical, all we have done here is just storing the information and not archiving it or what is called imaging. Archiving is basically concerned with recording information that is of value to the organization itself, so that it can manage and keep it for as long as possible or forever. This simply means that electronic archiving consists in converting documents and documents at the end of their documentary cycle into legal records that cannot be touched or making any change in their original content for the purpose of protecting them and facilitating access to them when needed.
