Electro-mechanical torsional interaction (introduction)

Proper electro-mechanical integration is key for reliable operation of entire drive system and for its long life time. Vibration is increasingly a topic in motion world and the root cause is not always properly understood.

What are the mechanisms of torsional interaction? What is the relation between torque ripple and vibration level? Why might closed-loop torsional amplification be dangerous? And what about active damping functions?

We start a new series and hope to answer most of your questions related to interactions between driver and driven load.
