electrified bread delivery
A bakery in 4. Generation relies on the innovation of the Volkswagen e-Crafter in combination with the hygiene expansion Trans-Clean? – out of conviction.
J?rg Itjen runs his bakery trade in Cuxhaven with tradition and passion. Despite (or precisely because of) the more than 100 years of the bakery's existence, J?rg Itjen is counting on progressive innovations. "Traditional values and new technologies are not mutually different, but support the daily working", says the owner, who manages around 100 employees and 10 branches.
The high quality and the variety of its products are in the foreground – so only regional raw materials are used for the baked goods, which are offered in the branches and own cafés.
Quiet engine and locally emission-free - for nature and holidaymakers
The decision for an electronic motorization for the transports for the delivery and delivery of its branches and customers is therefore close. "We just want to be a pioneer and lead by example. Sustainability is important to us – and someone has to start with it."
J?rg Itjen is very convinced of the use of his 3 e-Crafterfrom Volkswagen. Because the advantages of an extremely quiet electric motor with locally zero emissions are particularly important in its homeland: As the largest North Sea spa in Germany, Cuxhaven is a popular holiday destination with a maritime flair and a special nature that must be protected. Itjen is a big concern to be perceived positively in this tourist area. Or just: not to be noticed at all by a quiet morning delivery at hotels or its branches near the beach!
The e-Crafter is optimal for the needs of the baker's trade
Employees and drivers of the Bakery Itjen praise the dynamic driving behaviour and also want to avoid the smart assistance system, such as a rear-view camera and park pilot. The range is also suitable for operation, as the daily routes in the urban area and in the surrounding area are planned in advance, and also take place in the early morning and thus the charging management corresponds optimally to the workflow.
Itjen's high quality standards also include the hygienic and impeccable transport of its bakery and confectionery products. For several years now, he has relied on The Hygiene Expansion of Goliath Trans-Lining KG, which is specially designed for food transport. The trans-clean? expansion used here is recommended by the Federal Association of Food Inspectors e.V. – and J?rg Itjen can confirm this. During the annual inspections, his vehicle expansion is mentioned positively, which is still flawless even after years and does not require any maintenance or repair.
The one-piece processed surface of the hygiene extension allows easy cleaning, which in everyday bakers brings with it above all a time relief. The very robust materials are shock-resistant and splinter-free and can also withstand falling baskets without any problems. The slipping-reducing floor provides safety during loading and unloading. Trans-Clean is, so to speak, the "all-round carefree package" for the entire life of the vehicle.
