Acting Director of Serbian state-owned power utility EPS Dusan Zvikovic said that it is certain that there will be a decrease in electricity prices for commercial consumers, while there will be no price change for households in the upcoming period.
?
Zivkovic said that intensive work is being done with the Ministry of Energy on changing the methodology that will form the electricity price for commercial customers from 1 May, so that it follows the market prices. He emphasizes that the new methodology for forming the price for commercial customers will provide much flexibility because it will avoid drastic differences compared to the market both in times of low and high prices.
?
The new methodology will create space to follow market movements in both directions, both in drops and in price spikes. Both EPS and its customers will be much safer. It has happened in the past that market prices went over 250 euros/MWh, while commercial customers were paying a maximum of about 100 euros/MWh. At the same time, the consumers will be able to plan their costs and possibly direct funds into investments, innovations and business improvement, instead into energy.
