Electricity consumption usage changes and the impacts during the COVID-19 Pandemic - Part 1
Hello and welcome to my first post... hopefully you find it useful as well as the others posted in the future.
During the current pandemic the impacts on businesses may well be immeasurable. However the electricity consumption usage and patterns have dramatically changed causing havoc and uncertainty throughout the UK.
This leads in to my first bitesize nugget of information:
The importance of actual consumption on your electricity invoice
In the current world the majority of electricity meters are automatically read and sent to suppliers to ensure your business are invoiced for the actual electricity consumed, however for those meters that need manual reads it is imperative to supply these to your supplier. This is to ensure you don't get invoiced of over-estimated usage as these estimates may well be based off historical/industry profiling and may bear no resemblance to your actual usage in the current climate which could mean a higher cost on your invoice than it should be.
Obviously reading meters can only be done if you can follow the current government recommendations, if you cannot access your meter due to these restrictions get in touch with your supplier who should be able to reduce the estimated consumption based off information you give them.
