Job Summary
· Researches, designs, develops and tests electric motors in accordance with applicable standard
Duties
· Assists sales and customer with appropriate selection of motor rating and design based on provided input
· Provides sales with technical support as required to support strategic growth strategies
· Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
· Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software, drafting software and test equipment to perform engineering tasks
· Direct and coordinate manufacturing and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
· Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, standards and specifications
· Inspect completed motors and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
· Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects
· Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment
· Supervise and train team members as necessary
· Investigate and test vendors' and competitors' products
· Oversee production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget
· Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s of Science degree in electrical or computer engineering
· Experience: 3-5 years of experience designing rotating machines or related electro-mechanical systems
· Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles
· Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of electrical motors
