Breaking News: Electric car manufacturer Tesla just outsold Mercedes-Benz in the most recent quarter - this is BIG NEWS and gives interesting insights into the future of commercial trucking and transportation.
Declining battery costs combined with improvements in performance and range are starting to make electric trucks and buses a viable alternative to traditional diesel-powered vehicles. Despite the higher purchase price, the cost of a electric vehicles levels-off over time, thanks to lower maintenance costs and fuel bills.
Imagine a truck that requires no oil changes, no fuel filters, air filters and no transmission service and it’s easy to see why maintenance costs of electric vehicles are so low.
If you are a fleet or transportation manager have you looked at or experimented with electric vehicles? I'd love to hear your experience thus far!
Drive on!

5 年I don't have a fleet (you know that) but electric trucks are here to stay, we're just late to the game in the U.S. There are already more than 350,000 electric buses in use in China. Europe is moving to electric but we're at the spot between battery cost/efficiency and customer demand that are driving OEMs to invest. The next hurdle will be the infrastructure. Big opportunities there that will change supply chains and beyond. This is a great article about some of the hurdles. Look forward to catching up in person soon Tony!? https://www.businessinsider.com/this-expert-says-tesla-semi-is-economically-and-ecologically-pointless-2019-2
