Electric road tripping – the ‘new normal’ of grand touring
What are your plans this summer? How good are you at planning road trips? Currently planning my summer vacation. This year will include an eco road trip, check below??
Road trips are one of my favourite ways to travel. I already have to fly a lot for my work, so for me a road trip is a great change, and I think already more people will take a road trip this summer instead of flying!
For me, one of the most enjoyable elements of a road trip is the planning! I enjoy choosing the things I want to see, roads I want to drive, and where I want to stop. EV road trips are exactly the same, but I think more about the route and where to recharge the car. I love that this means I visit new places I would never find! Plans for charging are part of the adventure.
I shared in previous posts that I just got a new all-electric e-Soul in Frankfurt and I can't wait to take it on long drives this summer. Vacations this year will be local, so some weeks in Spain and some in Germany. I look forward to the quiet driving experience of my e-Soul and visiting new places! It will be for me the first time I will be planning and driving long distances with my e-Soul, looking forward to it!
I think European drivers will already make more EV road trips this year than ever, and I encourage them to go ahead! Use your electric car and make new memories, have new experiences and discover new places. I know already that Kia EVs do everything my old gasoline cars could do - but they also make road trips cleaner, quieter and more interesting!

1 年Would you help? It's amazing to findout how people don't really care about the environment, global warming, airpollution, etc. Everybody say they do; however, nobody does anything when given an easy chance to help, including environmental advocates, the media, government, scientists, companies, automakers, and even the public in general. I have been sharing WindSol, a new invention for unlimited range EVs, a real solution to global warming, harmful emissions, and contamination, while saving money, time and inconvenience to drivers by not having to ever charge their vehicles. Guess what? Nobody cares even to repost or comment. Would someone repost/share? WindSol provides UNLIMITED RANGE to EVs, while helping the environment without using coal, diesel, gas, nuclear, or other polluters to generate electricity to charge vehicles; - WindSol is easy and economic to adopt for automakers, they just need mount wind generators on top, under, infront behind a grill, on side air intakes of car, and solar panels if/as needed. Check a post in the link below for a simple test at home to prove WindSol works, or ask any doubt or question. https://lnkd.in/gMNEsKwp Imagine the world with FREE UNLIMITED RANGE ENERGY.

1 年Imagine the world with FREE UNLIMITED RANGE ENERGY! With the PATENT PENDING Windsol system a 5.5 m/kw efficiency car like your Kias, would only need 13.63 kw for UNLIMITED RANGE, or less considering the ~1\3 reduction of weight by needing only 1-2 kw batteries. A car with an efficiency of 5 m/kw would need 15 kw. Your car can have UNLIMITED RANGE with 2 wind generators of 6.5 kw and a solar panel for the difference, or 3 6 kw wind turbines for a total of 18 kw at about 25 mph. 6kw wind generators price at Amazon for about $150: https://a.co/d/b6CTtgI. These turbines present very little drag/wind resistance with an initial torque <0.1 Nm. The PATENT PENDING WindSol invention works within the laws of physics, including the 2d law of thermodynamics, since there is more energy in the surrounding ambient of a car than what it needs. Mounting wind generators in the front of a vehicle doesn't add any wind resistance, since the front distributed solid flat wall of ~ 12 sq ft is already against the wind flow.
