Often, we take day-to-day items for granted and don't really consider what goes into making them – at least I know I do anyway.?

One such overlooked marvel is the electric motors that power a plethora of every day products. Having recently visited the UK's largest producer of such motors, I'm now a lot more conscious of their presence.

MTC project to help lower carbon emissions on construction sites

Government urged to tackle £1.5bn engineering skills shortage through education drive

Smart factories cannot exist without the right people with the right skills. That's why the ongoing manufacturing skills gap is of such concern.

Successful turnaround for components manufacturer following two years of significant losses

A Yorkshire-based components manufactuer is back in the black following two years of significant losses, thanks to a carefully developed turnaround plan.

Sheffield's P&B Metal Components, which makes more than 500 million products every year, 90% of which it exports, recorded a £606k profit with sales growing to £22.75m for the last financial year.
