Tesla Model 3 in Ireland...
I believe it’s vital that any CEO uses the product they make, sell or serve.
With this in mind and as part of the testing of our soon-to-be released electric journey planner App, I took one of our brand-new Tesla Model 3’s from Luxembourg City to Dublin City … One day, three supercharge stops, 800 kilometres…and then the ship!
I thought maybe the Tesla Model 3 would be underwhelming compared to its more expensive big brother, the Tesla Model S. I was wrong. This machine really epitomizes the phrase “Game Changer”.
It’s a super comfortable drive… Nimble, Responsive, Safe (with recently awarded European 5-star rating). It is also incredibly simple to use with a clean interface making this truly the iPhone moment of cars. It’s unlike any other car – feels like you have stepped into the future.
Three Supercharging stops of 15mins, 20mins and 25mins were all that were necessary (welcomed forced breaks on this long drive). Charging was fast and easy, helped in part by the new DC upgrade to Tesla’s superchargers across Europe. Using Autopilot frequently on the highways made this 800km drive seem effortless…I only did half the work! The car occasionally asks to touch the steering wheel to make sure the driver hasn't fallen asleep!
It’s even more apparent to me now that the age of electric mobility has definitely arrived and is here to stay. I could even charge the car on the ship to Dublin, thanks to Irish Ferries new addition, the W.B. Yeats, so I arrived in Dublin the next morning 100% charged and ready to go.
During the drive we had some traffic around Paris. An interesting side effect of driving electric is the increased awareness of smog and car fumes…every other car on the highway just seemed to me now like a legacy of the past!
With the rapid expansion of supercharging and fast charging networks this is only going to get better and better. All in all, the trip was fun, easy and a real pleasure.
To completely eliminate range anxiety and charging concerns we will next week release the new generation of our EV Rental App. With real-time remote battery monitoring and automatic ‘reliable’ charging routing, you can pre-plan your electric journey in advance and never be concerned about how to get to your destination. With more electric models joining our fleet, we aim to deliver a universal simple experience - download and just enjoy the futuristic drive.
UFODRIVE has now opened bookings in Dublin for the, soon to arrive, right hand drive Model 3…there’s no going back now!

5 年The Model 3 is a stunner, for sure.? Hopefully Tesla can ramp up production (Giga2 on the way) and wring more out of the battery factory to build more of all its upcoming designs, too (Semi, Pickup, Y).
more than? a tipping point I think is the begin of the S adoption curve , in the next few years there will be a lot of evolution in the EV market and looks like not all manufacturer are ready
