Electric All-Terrain Walker (ATW)

There have been a lot of rumors about an upcoming walking Boston Dynamics ATW concept called Yellowstone.?

I would like to officially clarify that we have no current intentions to develop this product. While it is true that an eco-friendly, battery-powered walker could potentially thrive in the picturesque setting of our national parks - akin to an experience somewhere between riding a horse and operating a traditional ATV- you won't find it in our product lineup anytime soon.

If we ever were to dabble in such an endeavor, it would most certainly share Spots autonomous features, which we just enhanced in our recent? 3.3 release.?

This might allow the walker to autonomously and safely return to the campsite after dropping hikers off at the top of the mountain, or picking up hikers in distress by following an emergency beacon initiated through a companion app.?

Just like Spot, Yellowstone could be outfitted with additional sensors such as thermal imaging cameras for night time riding.?

Our Spot business unit is squarely focused on industrial inspection. We are equipping Spot with the right sensors to detect failures early, and assist in preventative maintenance. Check out this great video that shows the tangible work we are presently doing with 雀巢 Purina.?

In the meantime, go out there, and drive a real ATV in Yellowstone.
