Election Times

Again these are election times,
the fun, frolic and loudspeakers are on the street;
with love, pedagogy, muscle and bright attire,
they peddle dreams;
asking for people's vote, they are at their gentlemanly best;
after the elections the dreams may run dry, who cares!
Yet, the days before the election wear a festive look,
with each candidate projecting himself to be the statesman one needed.
Hope is given and hope is lost, yet the circus goes on.
Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac;
People, continue to vote and let not dreams and hopes be crushed;
A day will come when Messiah returns.
Who knows He is among them - vote on and enjoy life.
