EIT FAN 2022 Cohort: Sustainable Agriculture

This year EIT Food selected 61 startups from across Europe be be part of the 2022 EIT Food Accelerator Network! We're taking a look at this year's EIT FAN cohort, starting with the startups that fall within the focus area of Sustainable Agriculture.

1. Carbone Farmers- Unlocking the potential of a low carbon agriculture

Based in France, Carbone Farmers are helping to make the transition to low-carbon agriculture viable for farmers by developing a platform that enables stakeholders to valorise their contribution to the farmer’s transition to low carbon agriculture practices. 2. Climate Farmers- Visionary adventurers on a mission to scale regenerative agriculture.

Through their transition work with farmers, Climate Farmers (based in Germany) is enabling unparalleled data availability by using emerging monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) technologies such as algorithmic models, remote sensing, machine learning, spectroscopy, bioacoustics, and in-field sensors. 3. CLSTRLobe- Generation of data-driven crop farming.

From Croatia, CLSTRLobe uses data science, machine learning and advanced mathematics on actual field data to create prediction, optimization, and simulation models. These models provide insights that can support farmers’ decisions and are available for farmers to use within the CLSTRLobe platform. 4. Deep Crop Growbotics - Capture Automation Limited

Based in the United Kingdom, Deep Crop Growbotics has developed a prototype in the scope of the following feasibility trial: Self-propelled drive unit (4W drive and steer); Machine learning based 3D camera system to locate and grade broccoli and 3-axis robot with cutting end effector.

5. EcoNomad Solutions- Affordable waste management solution for sustainable farming.

From the United Kingdom, BioNomad? is an innovative, modular and scalable waste-to-energy platform that can be easily installed in small livestock farms, micro-dairies, petting zoos, animal sanctuaries or anywhere where manure or slurry is regularly collected. 6. EOD Europe- Tomorrow’s solutions for the microbial challenges of today.

7. FarmLabs Agriculture Technologies and R&D- ‘We care about your crops’.

Based in Turkey, FarmLabs, whose main field of work is to develop smart agriculture technologies, was established to produce hardware and software solutions that plan to reach Turkish and foreign markets in line with its 10 years of experience on artificial intelligence supported variable rate applications in agricultural production. 8. Fauna Smart Technologies- Helping farmers transition to healthier and more efficient farming practices.

9. Lab4Impact- Real alternatives to traditional herbicides and pesticides.

10. Meshek76- Exploration, development and optimization of autonomous and sustainable agriculture.?

Based in Israel, Meshek76 is developing an AI-based robotic solution that will monitor the growing process 24/7, and based on CV & AI will conduct accurate dilutions and picking to optimise the process. Find out more here: https://www.meshek76.com/?

11. Microbe Plus- Solutions provided by nature.

By combining biological products and molecular biology, Microbe Plus, who are based in Poland developed an innovative, microbiological technology (probiotic for plants) that reduces the use of chemical pesticides and fertilisers. Discover more here: https://www.microbe-plus.com/en/?

12. Regrowth- Precision farming technologies.

From Italy, Regrowth has developed their product LEAF (Live Environmental & Animal Feedback); an integrated product consisting of management protocols, supported by a modular PLF (Precision Livestock Farming) system. 13. Rise Ag- Accessible financing for your transition to sustainable agriculture.

Developed in France, Rize is a platform where farmers can understand their carbon footprint, define their climate action plan and finance their climate action. This platform is based on an advanced carbon monitoring infrastructure at the farm level combining technologies such as carbon footprint calculation, advanced soil modelling, or even satellite imagery. 14. SAM-DIMENSION- Less herbicides, more precision.

15. SmartCloudFarming GmbH- Scalable, accurate, remote 3D soil carbon monitoring & measurement.

16. TOOPI- Turning Human urine into a resource.

17. ULLMANNA s.r.o.- Smart non-chemical, in-row farming.
