How the General Theory of Relativity Explains the “Anomalous” Precession of the Perihelion of Mercury
In this article, I describe one of the many (theoretical and experimental) tests that confirmed the correctness of general relativity (Einstein's theory of gravity). This calculation accurately explained the "anomalous" precession of the perihelion of Mercury (see figure below), which Newton's theory of gravitation failed to predict.
