Eight Sources of Disruption

The conventional wisdom is that your organization can be disrupted by anyone. This unhelpful "wisdom" doesn't provide any insights into where the disruption can actually come from, nor does it give you any insights as to how to protect yourself, in any way.
Where does disruption come from? Here are eight specific places:
Of course, every industry (and company) will have its own list of potential sources of disruption. But starting here leads to two important questions:
This week's action plan:
An even more important for those considering digital transformation is a third question:
3. How might we use one of these factors so that we can be the disruptor, not the disrupted? Eg. What is the impact of bringing work in-house? Is there an opportunity to productize our process? And so on.
This week, focus on the third question: After all, the best defense is a strong offence.
Your thoughts?
Contrarian views are welcome.

This Month's Topic: Driving Change, Impact and Growth in Your Organization
Your organization has grown, but it seems more chaotic than ever.
Or there has been a major “shock” to the organization (tough economy, M&A, new competitor, new systems, new tech - eg AI), and there is a significant amount of uncertainty or stress.
Or maybe there is a new leadership team, who wants to do things… very differently.
In all three cases, change is necessary, and alignment even more so. But how?
?? How can we drive impact throughout the organization, and have it stick?
?? How can we create an aligned and “thinking” organization?
?? How can we cultivate the “new” desired culture?
Yes, traditional change management has its place, but in this session, we will go beyond, and explore a number of additional concepts:
? The impact and role of a multi-modal approach to change management: Communication/Coaching/Training/Monthly reinforcement/Events/etc.
? Internal vs external execution: When to use - and not use - external resources.
? Getting to neutral vs getting ahead: Using change management to drive competitive differentiation, impact, and growth.

It could be a key staffing change (you lose an innovator that you were counting on) or even a revolutionary change in one area of your organization that other departments might not be able to deal with. Maybe your operations can suddenly produce at twice the rate as before, but your shipping department and warehousing can't keep up with the increased product flow. Am I off base here?
