Eight months until Microsoft: Windows Server 2012 reaches end of support
Is your business still using Microsoft Windows Server 2012? If so, now is the time to look at upgrading your systems, as Windows Server 2012/2012 R2 will reach its end of support (EOS) on 10 October 2023.
Once this date has passed, Microsoft will no longer provide patch updates, security fixes, or technical support. This means that your business could be at risk of security vulnerabilities, and the software will become increasingly unstable.
It’s essential that if you do need to make the switch, the transition takes place as soon as possible. If you move before the official EOS date, you can keep your compliance processes going and stop any security holes from opening up.
Microsoft itself has pointed out that “SQL Server and Windows Server run many business-critical applications that may take more time to modernize.” So, if your business has important applications that are needed to keep things running smoothly, you should plan for your migration to happen as soon as possible to avoid any problems.
We take care of this for our clients in Suffolk, Norfolk, and Essex as a matter of course. However, we know that there are a lot of businesses across the East of England that may be working via MS Windows Server 2012 and may be unaware of the forthcoming EOS date.
