I am inspired by the generosity shared in our Buffalo community. I had the privilege to work with Eight Days of Hope yesterday to help Western New York’s hardest hit neighborhood. With Buffalo's East Side representing the most cases of coronavirus in a single community, Eight Days of Hope volunteers handed out thousands of masks to those in need.
"I love when God opens up a door for us to help and serve the broken hearted," Steve Tybor, CEO of Eight Days of Hope, said. "The zip code 14215 has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 virus. A couple of days ago, we came into some more masks. Our idea was to take care of our own. Our goal is to help everyone that we can."
More than 7,500 masks were distributed to thousands of cars that formed a seemingly endless line. The operation distributed masks to the cars by placing a bag of masks and cleaning wipes through the back window of each car. Eight Days of Hope's service is a blessing for our community.
